Passion Project
Going To College, What Does It All Mean?
Project Parameters:
Project 1: Interview With College Student
For my first project I decided to interview a college student. I immediately thought it would be cool to interview my sister, Taylor, who's currently attending Mercy Hurst University. I planned to ask her questions about her college experiences, and how she would describe the transition from high school to college. I also asked her for her opinion on what she thinks the real purpose of college is and why. I had to take the video a few times to make sure it was perfect. I edited it with iMovie, and I personally consider this project a success.
Project 2: Pros and Cons Poster
For my second project I made a Pros and Cons poster. I chose to due a poster as my second project because I thought it would represent my topic well, and would display the data I collected neatly. I used my book, College 101, and created a list of all the pros and cons of going to college. I then typed the list on a computer, and arranged them on my poster board to look like the sun. I thought a unique format would not only make my project more interesting, but make it stand for something more. Based on my results, I would consider this project a success because it's complete, and fulfilled all of my requirements.
Project 3 : Survey Monkey
For my 3rd and final project I decided to create a survey for teachers, adults, college students etc... The survey consisted of questions that only could be answered if you went to college. I then collected the data, and created a survey for people grades 2-12 looking to attend college in the future. The 2nd survey consisted of similar questions to the 1st, but the main difference is the survey taker didn't need to have college experience. That is why I created both surveys. To see how a persons mind set can change after a certain experience. I consider this project successful because I had a good sample size, and believe I collected honest results.
